My Bead Odyssey

My fascination with glass and jewellery making began in my early teens. I‘d often head over to my local bead shop on Saturdays, mesmerised by all the delicious jewel-like twinkly beads for sale.

During one of my later bead shop visits in 2002, I signed up for a one day trial lesson with a Perthshire lampworker – and that was when I was officially hooked on melting glass! Due to other commitments and my graphic design job, all I could do was to read up and watch all the tutorials on the craft I could find. It wasn’t until years later before I was able to dive in and set up my own little studio. I’m completely self-taught but there is always something new to learn and explore with glass and I love it!

My beads are made using a Bethlehem Alpha torch and oxygen concentrator, together with high quality soda lime glass. When I'm not on my day job, I'm making beads in my little garden cabin – it's my little happy place!

In addition to my website shop, I still have an active Etsy store featuring more of my handmade beads and have many five-star reviews.
