Frequently Asked Questions
Please get in touch if your question is not answered here
Do you post countries within the EU?
I post to many countries, however, due to the EU packaging law for each country and the new GDPR regulations which both require me to spend hundreds of pounds a year on so called 'representatives' based in the EU, regrettably I cannot post to any of the European Union countries.
Please find delivery information here for all other countries.
Are you posting to the USA?
YES!
I post out to the USA via Royal Mails’ new postal delivery duties paid (PDDP) service with immediate effect. In order for your parcel to clear customs, the new 10% Tariff is calculated on your final cost of goods and added to your order. The Tariff is prepaid which allows your parcel to pass through Customs.
Bead care
Glass beads can be cleaned with a simple glass cloth. Glass beads featuring shiny silver glass or embedded silver wire can only be cleaned carefully with a special polishing cloth for silver, available at most grocery stores. Avoid spraying perfume, deodorant, hairspray etc when wearing your bead to avoid any damage to any special surface decoration on the bead.
All my lampwork beads are handmade and flame to kiln annealed for maximum strength and durability. However, in its lifetime, should it receive a hard knock which results in a chip or crack in the glass, then please dispose of it immediately to prevent exposure to sharp edges. Please keep all beads away from children and animals.
I've seen one of your glass beads, can you remake it for me?
Beads without silver glass may be remade but payment will be in full before work commences and is not refundable or returnable. Please note they may also not be totally identical to the original bead due to the handmade process/ glass chemistry so cannot guarantee a completely faithful copy. Wholesale orders are not accepted.
Do you sell your beads / jewellery anywhere else?
I started off selling on Etsy (with many 5 star reviews) and still sell some beads there occasionally, but going forward, the majority of my new beads will be listed here. If you see a bead you are interested in on my Etsy page and my website too, please do get in touch first so I can work something out for you to combine the order and give you a better price than on Etsy.
Why do handmade lampwork glass beads cost more?
A complex glass bead can take an hour or more to create. It requires a level of skill gained over many years of practice to hand manipulate molten glass rods into shapes and decoration within a flame temperature of 1500-1800C! The majority of glass rods I use are hand-pulled limited edition and some also have been made with elements of silver and gold in their make up. Only the most delicious glass is used for your beads!
